Youthstream has announced that Faenza circuit in Italy will hold centre stage as the Grand Prix of Europe, the penultimate round of the FIM Motocross World Championships on 9 September.

The Faenza circuit is one of the most international tracks in Italy, having previously hosted the series on numerous occasions in the past.

The most recent round held at Faenza in 2009 saw Tanel Leok take home the MX1 victory on a Yamaha, with Ken De Dycker in second and Clement Desalle rounding out he podium.

In the MX2 class it was Gautier Paulin on his Kawasaki machine who stood on the top spot of the podium, while Jeremy Van Horebeek took second, with the now AMA championship contender Marvin Musquin in third.

The 2012 Faenza GP is sure to be a battle with defending MX1 champion Antonio Cairoli coming under fire from Christophe Pourcel recently and the always hotly contested MX2 division banging bars.
