Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jay Marmont is looking to reverse his form after enduring a tough weekend at round three of the Monster Energy MX Nationals series in Wonthaggi.

The four-time Australian Motocross Champion was only able to manage 6-6-7 moto results on the weekend, leaving the round with a seventh overall in the MX1 class.

Known for his consistency and ability to step up his game when the pressure is on, Marmont will be aiming upwards in the next seven rounds of the 10-round series.

“I’m in a hole at the moment and I need to dig my way out of it, we can only go up from here,” Marmont admitted, now sixth in the series and 42 points behind MX1 leader Josh Coppins.

“I’m injury free and a lot of other guys out there have a lot worse problems than me. I’ve just got to go out there and have fun on my dirt bike again and enjoy myself next week and turn it around.

“The team’s been awesome, everybody’s trying really hard to get me up there and we’re not far away, there’s a race win around the corner.”

Watch for a revitalised ride from the defending champion when round four arrives at Wanneroo in Western Australia, 12-13 May.
