Tye Simmonds has unveiled the brand new Red Bull/Honda/Simmonds Racing CRF450R that he’s contest the 2012 Monster Energy MX Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship.

Simmonds, 19, split with JDR/KTM late in the pre-season to form his own Honda satellite outfit, expanding his relationship with Austrian energy drink giant Red Bull.

The deal will see Simmonds promote the Red Bull Mobile brand throughout the season, in addition to again wearing his customary Red Bull helmet.

Another first class sponsor will be the Australian Motorcycle Expo, which yesterday confirmed its involvement with Simmonds as he returns to Australia following a season in the U.S. last year.

Simmonds will sport event branding on his neck brace and will be involved in various promotions for the national motorcycle industry event at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 23-25 November.

Honda has got behind an unprecedented number of competitors this season including Simmonds, the factory Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing team, Campbell Mining/TLD/Maxima/Honda, DPH Motorsport Honda Racing, MX Factory Honda Racing and BCP Honda Fox Racing.

“Racing has always been incredibly important for Honda, it is a part of the global company philosophy and synonymous with the brand,” general manager, motorcycles, Tony Hinton said.

“In Australia we are keen to show as much support for motocross and supercross as possible to ensure the sport continues to grow in popularity, this support is for both our factory team and privateer teams.

“With round one of the Motocross Nationals kicking off this weekend, Honda Australia would like to wish everyone the greatest success. We are confident that our riders have the skills and set up to produce excellent results in 2012 and to challenge for the titles.”

Conondale’s opening round tomorrow marks the first in a 10-round series scheduled for 2012.
