Sunshine Coast standout Ford Dale will be hoping for a home round advantage when the 2012 Monster Energy MX Nationals kick off at Conondale this Sunday.

The Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing MX2 rider has endured a demanding pre-season as he gets set to return from injuries that forced him out of closing MX Nationals rounds and Super X last year, happy to be back on track in front of his home crowd.

“Conondale is a great track and to start the season here is good as I’ve ridden it so many times,” said Dale.

“It’s always good to have my family and friends along to the races and I’m aiming to build on the pre-season speed and be on the podium every race.

“I’ve been working very hard on my focus and concentration on the bike to make sure I’m getting the most out of every lap.

“It has been a really solid pre-season and we’ve worked very closely as a team to make the bike the best package it can be.”

This season marks Dale’s return to the Melbourne-based Honda outfit after two years at Serco Yamaha, lining up alongside the team’s experienced MX1 duo of Ben Townley and Brad Anderson.
