POD MX has announced that CDR Yamaha’s Josh Coppins has signed with the brand ahead of the 2012 Monster Energy MX Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship.

Coppins will make his Australian race debut with the POD K700 Knee Brace on 1 April at the MX Nationals opener at Conondale, Queensland.

“Riding for the CDR Yamaha team, I spend a lot of time in Torquay, which is also the home of Pod MX,” Coppins explained. “Having met Geoff [Maloney] and his team at POD, I was keen to try the K700 Knee Brace.

“Within moments I knew the Pod K700 brace was the best fitting knee brace for me and offers the most support. I’m not only a huge fan of the product, but I like the ideas behind the brace with its fit and the support at the events.

“I hope to win many races and even a championship for them and I can’t thank them enough for welcoming me to the team.”

POD Active’s Geoff Maloney welcomed Coppins to the team, proud to have such an established contender wear the K700 on local soil.

“We are really pleased to have a rider of Josh’s calibre on the team,” Maloney said. “With his experience, we know he wouldn’t compromise his safety so it makes us very proud to have Josh putting his faith into the POD MX Knee Brace.”

Coppins joins an impressive list of racers wearing the K700 Knee Brace, including his CDR Yamaha teammate Lawson Bopping, U.S. star Justin Barcia, Brad Anderson, Tye Simmonds, Todd Waters, Craig Anderson, Louis Calvin, Luke Arbon, Adam Monea, Mitch Norris, as well as rising stars Callum Norton, Hunter Lawrence and Jesse Dobson.

Complementing the POD MX Team is the off-road team riders, including Ballards Yamaha riders Stefan Merriman, Matt Phillips and Dan Milner, Team Active 8 Yamaha teammates Jarrod Bewley and Josh Green, Motorex KTM’s Ben Grabham, plus Mitchum Harper.
