Anderson sweeps Victorian championship opener

Round one of the 2012 Victorian Motocross Championships took place at Wonthaggi over the weekend, with some big names thrown in the mix.

Round one of the 2012 Victorian Motocross Championships took place at Wonthaggi over the weekend, with some big names thrown in the mix.

With the Monster Energy MX Nationals series just around the corner, many of our top riders hit the track to get some seat time on new teams and setups.

Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s international import Brad Anderson took top honours in the Open class, sweeping the all four motos to take the round win, with Todd Waters in second and Kirk Gibbs rounding out the top three.

In the Lites class, after stepping down from the Open class in 2012, it was DPH Motorsport Honda Racing’s Cheyne Boyd who took the opening round win.

Ford Dale took second place and Joel Milesevic took third place, rounding out the Lites podium on the day.

The gates drop for round two of the Victorian Motocross Championships 21-22 April in Cobram, VIC.
