Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing will have an open policy when it comes to sharing vital technical information with Honda-supported privateers Tye Simmonds and Jake Moss in 2012.

According to team owner Yarrive Konsky, the Melbourne-based team has already provided information to Simmonds and Moss in the lead-up to the MX Nationals season, which commences on 1 April in Queensland.

“Our bikes are very individualised, however Ben Twonley’s bike is very close to production,” Konsky told MotoOnline. “We’ve already provided technical information to both Jake and Tye in the short amount of time that we’ve been working with them.”

While Honda’s factory team will maintain its focus on internationals Ben Townley and Brad Anderson in the MX1 class for this year, Konsky said that he will be closely monitoring the progress of both Simmonds and Moss this year on the CRF450R.

With Townley’s sights firmly set on a return to the U.S. in the future if the right opportunity arises, both Simmonds and Moss serve as potential candidates for a full factory ride if that happens.

“The reality of it is that both of our riders are internationals,” Konsky added. “Their time in Australia could be limited, depending on overseas opportunities as the economy gets better and if their desires or goals change.

“If Ben and Brad want to race here next year then we’d hope to continue with them, but there is definitely a philosophy and a method behind why we are supporting Jake, Tye and Cheyne [Boyd, in the Lites] for this year.”

The official Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing team will campaign Townley and Anderson in the MX1 class, while Ford Dale will contest the MX2 category this season aboard the CRF250R.

Simmonds announced today that he’ll form his own team, while Moss was announced last week as part of the new Campbell Mining/TLD/Maxima/Honda Team.
