Williams Event Management has announced that the Australian Veterans Motocross Championship will be contested over two rounds during the 2012 MX Nationals season.

The opening round will take place at Goanna Tracks, Coonabarabran, in New South Wales on 14-15 April, before concluding at Coolum in Queensland on 25-26 August.

“The Goanna Tracks venue is amazing and the track is a must ride for all dirt bike enthusiasts,” said WEM boss Kevin Williams. “The Vets are a popular addition to the program and we are pleased to expand the series to two rounds in 2012.”

Two categories make up the Vets titles, featuring a 30-39 Years class, as well as a 40-Plus Years class. Age for the Vets championships are as at the date of the event.

Last year saw former pro class national champions Cameron Taylor and Darryll King win the Vets championships respectively at Coolum’s MX Nationals season finale.
