Yamaha has officially launched the brand new 2012 model WR450F in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, inviting the nation’s leading motorcycle publications to the test.

The press is currently experiencing the new WR on trails in the Coffs Harbour region, lead by the Yamaha-supported Coffs Harbour Detour guided trail tours.

Featuring the same bilateral beam frame that was also introduced on the YZ250F for this year, the 2012 Yamaha WR450F is more compact, lower and shorter than its predecessor.

It also has a fuel injected engine, which remains five valves, but has a host of upgrades while retaining the reliability that Yamaha has become famous for on the trails.

MotoOnline.com.au’s Alex Gobert has been along for the ride across the two days of epic trail adventure, so stay tuned for a complete review to come on the bike within the week.
