Experience the key for Bopping as he prepares for 2012 season

Lawson Bopping is determined to step it up as part of CDR Rockstar Energy Yamaha in 2012.

CDR Rockstar Energy Drink Yamaha’s Lawson Bopping believes that he can make great progress this year after signing with the all-conquering factory Yamaha team.

After a spectacular rookie season in the Pro Open class during 2011, 22-year-old Bopping is eager to raise his form to the next level under the guidance of Craig Dack.

“Last year I learnt a lot about riding the 450,” Bopping explained to MotoOnline.com.au. “This year I have a similar approach, just knowing what to expect a little bit.

“Obviously this year is going to be harder again I think, with [Ben] Townley coming over and a couple of other guys, but I look forward to it with the change.

Bopping said he hopes to use the resources of CDR to help him improve as a rider for 2012, which will go hand in hand with his experience from last season.

“I’ve got new bikes, a new team, new gear and new everything, so I look forward to working with CDR,” he added. “They know a lot about racing and you only have to look at all the championships that they have won.

“I’m looking forward to learning a lot from the team and then seeing what we can do with it all.”
