Monster Energy Pro Cicuit Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson admits that he’s disappointed with his performance at Anaheim’s first round of Monster Energy AMA Supercross.

Coming in as an early West Coast Lites title favorite, Wilson was excited for Anaheim, but rode a little tighter than he had hoped.

Never being one to give up, he stayed strong and went bar-to-bar with his teammate Tyla Rattray for the majority of the Lites main.

A crash on the final lap of the 15-lap main led to an unfortunate ending for Wilson, but the result will motivate him even more to do well at the next round in Phoenix.

“I’m completely gutted,” said Wilson. “I’ve been putting in my training hours and I’m definitely confident that I’m really prepared for this year, but it just didn’t come together for me tonight.

“I’m glad I got the jitters out of my system, though. All I can do is learn from the experience and move forward to Phoenix.”

Wilson is the current AMA Pro Motocross Champion in the 250 Class.
