JDR/J-Star/KTM’s Ryan Marmont says his goal in upcoming rounds of the West Coast Lites series in Monster Energy AMA Supercross is to gain momentum with additional seat time.

The 26-year-old finished 17th on debut at Anaheim 1 last Saturday night despite just minimal time on the bike in the U.S, Marmont has his sights set on improving each and every week during the series.

“Not doing much practice over here was making it really hard, but the bike was unreal,” Marmont said of the factory 250 SX-F.

“I’d barely ridden it and it was totally different to anything that I’d ever ridden before. It was ultra fast and I had to adapt to it as quick as possible as well.

“To be racing against these guys that you usually watch on TV, I have a lot of respect for them, so I just want to try battle with them and even beat them.

“I’m over here and loving it, so I just want to try get to where I know I should be.”

Marmont’s search for success will continue this weekend at Phoenix in Arizona when round two takes place on Saturday night.
