Australian Motocrosss and Supercross Champion Jay Marmont has spoken out about Monster Energy Kawasaki’s 2012 model KX450F following initial tests with the team in Queensland.

Marmont will make a sensational switch to the Toowoomba-based factory Kawasaki team for next season when he defends his Australian Motocross and Supercross number one plates.

Following a four-year reign as champion with CDR Rockstar Energy Drink Yamaha, it was announced yesterday that Marmont will officially switch to Monster Energy Kawasaki for the new year.

The team has already commenced testing for 2012 in Queensland, with Marmont admitting to MotoOnline.com.au that he is quickly gaining comfort aboard his new ride.

“The bike’s been really good,” Marmont said. “It has been a lot of effort, because you know, it’s not like you’re going to get on a new bike and have everything suited to you.

“We’ve put in a lot of effort setting up the suspension and I feel like for sure where we are at right now is further ahead than what we were last year or the year before going into the start of the series.

“Both the team and myself know there is a lot of work to be done before the season, but we’ve started off early and have a lot more testing and pre-season races to do. We’ll prepare as good as what we can for the 2012 season.

“Things are looking good right now, so yeah I’m excited.”
