Wildwood Rock Extreme Enduro set for this weekend in Victoria

Chris Hollis will make his debut at the Wildwood Rock for Motorex KTM Off Road Racing.

Just one week following the launch of Motorex KTM Off Road Racing’s 2012 rider line-up, the team will make its anticipated race debut at this weekend’s Force Accessories Wildwood Rock extreme enduro event.

To be held at Tullamarine in Victoria on Sunday, 20 November, the Wildwood Rock presents a unique challenge to competitors in the form of various natural and man-made obstacles including rocks, bricks, logs, balancing beams, tyres and even dismantled ute trays. The race will span over three hours.

On debut for the team, brand new member and current Australian Off Road Champion Chris Hollis is excited to debut aboard the 450 EXC for Motorex KTM.

“I’m looking really forward to the weekend with a new team, new bike and a fresh start,” Hollis said. “At the end of the day it’s just a one-off race, not a championship event, so I’ll be easing my way into it and continuing to adapt to the KTM.

“There are going to be some unique aspects of the event, so that is sure to challenge us and I’m excited to see what the circuit looks like.”

Hollis will debut alongside fellow former dual AORC champion Toby Price, fresh from a solid fourth place finish in the final round of the Grand National Cross Country Championship in the USA, as well as desert racing specialist Ben Grabham.

While Hollis will make his debut aboard the 450, Price will compete on the 350 EXC-F and Grabham will ride the big-bore 500 EXC.

Yamaha will field its host of factory riders including Matt Phillips, Stefan Merriman, Daniel Milner, Anthony Roberts, Jarrod Bewley and Josh Green.

Husaberg will have extreme enduro legend Graham Jarvis on hand for the weekend, while Husqvarna will be headed by Glenn Kearney.

Gates to the event open at 8.00am, with the Prologue commencing at 9.00am. The green flag for the main event will kick things of at 11.30am before the field competes for three hours.
