Serco Yoshimura Yamaha’s Luke Styke has proved his supercross prowess in the dry this past weekend at Campbelltown, taking third overall to back up his round one podium in the Melbourne slop.

After coming through the ranks of the Yamaha development program, Styke has grabbed the opportunity to ride for the Serco Yoshimura squad with both hands, his recent form proving he belongs on the Pro Lites podium.

“I’m pretty happy with how I went,” Styke commented.

“My starts weren’t quite what they needed to be but I managed to stay clear of the first turn accidents, get by riders quickly and be in the lead pack each race.”

With his worst result so far being a fifth in the second mud round at Wollongong, Styke is well and truly sticking to his pre-season goal of top fives at every round, something which well could cement him a seat on the team for 2012.

“I’m still on track with my goal to finish top five at each round and it’s nice to keep getting these podiums to reward the team for their hard work,” Styke added.

Styke now sits third in the Super X Pro Lites standings, trailing series leader Matt Moss (JDR Motorex KTM) by 10 points with two rounds remaining.
