Sixth position in Wollongong’s Pro Lites main event has come as a vital confidence booster for GYTR Rockstar Energy Drink Yamaha’s Luke Arbon in Monster Energy Super X.

The South Australian bounced back from a disastrous opening round to finish sixth at WIN Stadium, a credible performance after stepping up from the Under 19s class following the MX Nationals.

“The team had my bike running awesome this weekend,” Arbon said. “I didn’t get a great jump from the gates, but I made some passes and got towards the front as fast as I could.

“By mid-race I was onto the pack in front of me and battling for the podium, but I made a few mistakes and dropped back a little at the end.

“Still, happy with the result and the way I raced and can’t wait for the next round.”

Arbon now sits inside the top 10 in the championship standings and looks to build on the momentum gained when the series reaches the halfway point in Campbelltown this weekend.
