Victorian Cheyne Boyd faces the tough task of securing a ride for 2012 without claiming the results in Monster Energy Super X that he was expecting this year.

X-rays this week revealed Boyd had fractured his leg in Wollongong’s second round of Super X, forcing him out of the series’ remainder.

Boyd will miss the remainder of the season and said his main focus now was to it to try and secure a riding contract for 2012.

“It was so disappointing to go down like that especially when there was no way of avoiding it,” Boyd admitted.

“My main priority now is to work out what I am doing next year. Not having the best motocross season, I was relying on Super X to show my speed.

“I can only hope my performance at round one and my practice/qualifying times from round two will be enough. I was second fastest in practice/qualifying which was where I knew I should be.

“Hopefully it is enough to secure my deal for next year,” he concluded.

Boyd’s current Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing team has already signed British champion Brad Anderson for next season, with a second rider yet to be confirmed.
