Toyota/JGRMX/Yamaha team boss Coy Gibbs believes that the signing of James Stewart in association with a long-term partnership with Yamaha results in their best chance yet for a title in 2012.

Since launching in 2008, JGRMX has taken just one main event victory in AMA Supercross thanks to Josh Grant, however the addition of dual series champion Stewart in the team will increase their odds in a massive way for next season.

Gibbs said it’s these final pieces of the puzzle that were required for the team to become true championship contenders.

“Joining our long term partnership with Yamaha along with the signing of James Stewart and the 2012 YZ450F at our disposal there is nothing holding us back from achieving all of our goals for 2012,” commented Gibbs.

Despite speculation that the team would switch to Suzuki with Stewart for next year, Yamaha’s YZ450F will return as the bike of choice for JGRMX.

“Yamaha’s relationship with JGR has been a very positive one and we were very happy when they chose the YZ450F as their bike when they started the team in 2008”, said Yamaha Motor Co. racing division manager Keith McCarty.

“And now with a long term contract the YZ450F and Yamaha will play an even bigger part in the team’s future.”

Both Stewart and Yamaha are committed to the JGRMX squad for at least the next three seasons.
