James Stewart says he’ll return to race everything he possibly can in 2012, hoping to emulate the success that Ryan Villopoto had this year.

Speaking at the press conference to announce his signing with the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX team, the 25-year-old confirmed that he has plans to race AMA Supercross, AMA Motocross and the Monster Energy Cup next season.

“The plan is to ride both series – I’m looking forward to it,” Stewart explained. “I knew this year with the group of guys that’s out there, you have to be 100 percent ready to go racing. And we weren’t. To race against both Ryans and Chad, we weren’t ready.

“We’re planning on racing everything. I think what Ryan Villopoto did this year sets the standard for racing. I think in 2005, Ricky did the same thing, and so, it’s one of the things I’ve never accomplished – winning everything in one year. For 2012, that’s the goal.”

Stewart and the team announced a multi-year agreement that will extend through the 2014 season overnight in the U.S.
