Australian Pro Lites Motocross Champion Matt Moss believes he will continue to improve as the season progresses, coming off a debut win for JDR Motorex KTM in the Monster Energy Super X season opener last weekend.

Moss won the Pro Lites Double Header with 2-1 results on Saturday night, a strong performance despite minimal preparation in the lead-up to the series while he focused on the Motocross of Nations for Team Australia.

“I actually felt really good, felt like I rode really solid,” Moss said. “It feels really good to get that first win, there’s only four more rounds to go. We’ll just keep capitalising on people’s mistakes.

“I was so disappointed this round as soon as I heard it was raining. After the Des Nations I’ve been working so hard because I found some things I can improve. I really think I can go out there and dominate, win convincingly in the dry.”

Moss now looks forward to the Wollongong round of Super X, which will mark his home round on the calendar for 2011.

“The whole JDR Motorex KTM team was right behind me and I finished second in the first final, then won the second one,” he said. “I am stoked to win my first supercross with KTM and can’t wait to hopefully race in the dry at round two.”
