Queensland rising star Todd Waters will spend this week completing final testing with the Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing team ahead of Monster Energy Super X’s first round on Saturday night.

Waters finished the MX Nationals season with a bang despite missing the opening rounds through injury, now determined to carry that form over to supercross after a strict pre-season training program.

“I’m feeling really good heading into the first round,” Waters said. “I’ve come down to Melbourne a week early to do some testing with Honda to make sure I’m feeling as comfortable as I can on it before I start racing.

“For the last few weeks I’ve been staying with my parents in Cairns and getting in as much riding and training as possible – I’ve mixed it a lot of hiking and kayaking to make sure I am as fit as possible.

“Super X is only a short series this year and it will fly by. I’m ready to get started and race hard.”

Waters is looking to build on his 2010 placing of eighth after his campaign was cut short.
