Gavin Faith will join the Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing team for Super X.

New Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing Pro Lites signing Gavin Faith is confident he’ll quickly be able to adapt to the formats in the Monster Energy Super X series, which kicks off in Melbourne this Saturday night.

An amateur outdoor rider in the U.S, 19-year-old Faith was hand-picked by team boss Yarrive Konsky to spearhead Honda’s factory Lites campaign for Super X.

“I have been training Supercross for the past three months and have been working on the Australian race formats which are different and exciting,” said Faith.

“I can’t wait to get to Australia and race, this is a great opportunity for me as there are some known riders competing in Lites who have raced over here.

“I’m also looking forward to getting out and seeing Australia for the first time.”

A recent research trip to the U.S. allowed Konsky to meet with Faith and see him in action.

“I noticed Gavin’s raw speed and determination when I watched him train,” said Konsky.

“I did some further research and found out that while he is still relatively unknown he has a strong record in amateur competition and has gone head to head and won on many occasions against recent amateur-turned-pro rider Justine Bogle.

“This, coupled with his attitude, I felt a sense of reason to give him a ride in Australia.”

The five round Super X championship begins on 22 October at the Melbourne Knights Stadium and runs until 19 November.
