Victorian Kade Mosig will miss next weekend’s opening round of the Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, after sustaining a broken left collarbone last week.

Mosig was expected to make a big impact on the series after a breakthrough season in the MX Nationals earlier this year with Berry Sweet Strawberries Lucas Oil Honda Racing, but he now faces an uphill battle to be fit in time for the final rounds.

“I was feeling really good on the bike, even though I hadn’t ridden too much because I’ve been getting over a back injury,” Mosig told MotoOnline.com.au. “I had a little crash at home, ended up snapping my left collarbone.

“It’s disappointing, but these things happen. I’ve had it operated on, had a plate put on it on Monday, so I just have to see how it goes. It’s really sore after the surgery, but hopefully I can come back for the last few rounds.”

Monster Energy Super X will commence on 22 October at Melbourne Knights Stadium, spanning over five straight weekends throughout the East Coast of Australia.
