Multiple-time Australian Motocross and Supercross Champion Craig Anderson has confirmed to MotoOnline.com.au that he intends to continue competing in the professional ranks for at least one more season.

The team owner/rider of the Berry Sweet Strawberries/Lucas Oil Honda Racing team will race again in season 2012, ruling out speculation that he’ll be retiring and looking to bounce back after an injury-plagued outdoor season this year.

Anderson, 33, launched his own team ahead of the 2010 season based out of Newcastle, and he’s now fully focused on next month’s Monster Energy Super X season opener.

“I’ll be back for next year, the bike is good, so I just need get fit and go try again,” Anderson told MotoOnline.com.au. “Testing has been good for supercross, we basically started with what I had at the end of last year and fixed a couple of things that I had complained about.

“I’m really happy now, so once I keep riding and testing then we’ll see what we can make of it. At the moment, it’s all going to plan.”

Anderson has enjoyed working with multiple riders on his team this season, a learning experience that has seen Victorian Kade Mosig blossom under the Berry Sweet/Lucas Oil Honda Racing structure.

“It’s been really good working with other riders on the team, hard work at times, but that was to be expected anyway,” Anderson explained. “Kade got really good results at the end of the year, which showed we had a good platform at the start and got better by the end.

“It was a positive season, so hopefully we can take that form from motocross into supercross.”
