New 250 Class Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Champion Dean Wilson raced through the pain of a suspected broken wrist at the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations in France last weekend.

Wilson’s Great Britain team missed the podium by just two points, their progress hampered by the wrist injury of Scottish rider Wilson, however he still scored a top 10 result in the first moto.

“I hurt my wrist last weekend at Pala for the final AMA National, but it wasn’t a big problem until I went practicing on Thursday locally,” Wilson said. “It swelled up like a balloon and there is definitely something broken.

“I still had good speed but no luck today. There was a crash at the first corner in my first race and I had to ride from last to ninth, then in the second race I crashed twice when I was headed for a top result.”

Despite his injury at Pala, Wilson raced to a perfect 1-1 scorecard during that weekend to conclude his championship season in the AMA ranks.
