Australian fan favourite Robbie Maddison is in doubt for this weekend’s Red Bull X-Fighters debut in Australia at Sydney’s Cockatoo Island, following a practice crash late on Thursday afternoon.

The X-Fighters were taking part in their first ride on the official course, however Maddison was airlifted out to the Royal North Shore hospital with unconfirmed injuries.

Maddo’s incident made headline evening news throughout Sydney, with initial reports suggesting that he suffered a concussion in the accident.

Reports state that Maddison was airlifted to hospital because of the location of the event on Cockatoo Island, with no ground transportation available.
