The Red Bull X-Fighters season will conclude this weekend at Cockatoo Island on Sydney Harbour, with the world’s best FMX riders going head-to-head on a purpose built playground of dirt and steel in the 2011 finale.

After 11 years and five stops this year in Dubai, Brasilia, Rome, Madrid and Warsaw, the world’s pinnacle freestyle competition tour finally makes it to Australia – the unofficial breeding ground of freestyle talent including Robbie Maddison, newcomer Josh Sheehan as well as Cam Sinclair and Robbie Adelberg.

For the first time, the Aussie bike jockeys get to show off their full repertoire of gravity-defying competition tricks on a freestyle course more reflective of the imagination than reality before a backdrop steeped in Australian history at the iconic UNESCO Cockatoo Island site.

As the final round of the series, the intensity of the battles is set to crank to intense levels with the riders seeking to fire up fans and impress judges in a bid for a podium finish and to stake their claim in final round standings to secure their position for the 2012 series.

With the standard of riding at an all time high, expect to see tricks you did not know were even possible. Can The Destroyer Nate Adams seal his third X-Fighters Tour title? Or will the Aussie brigade get in his way?
