Star MX1 rookie Steven Frossard has been ruled out of the MXoN for Team France.

Monster Energy Yamaha’s Steven Frossard has been ruled out of this weekend’s Motocross of Nations, opening the door for Christophe Pourcel on the home French team.

Frossard finished his rookie season second in the MX1 World Championship, however an air bubble in his lungs forced him out of the season finale in Italy last weekend.

Further scans on Monday confirmed the injury is still present, ruling him out of the MXoN event at Saint Jean d’Angeley this weekend in France.

It’s now all but confirmed that in-form CLS Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Christophe Pourcel will join the French team in MX1 for the MXoN, coming off a string of moto victories in the final stages of world motcross.

The French team will feature final world motocross round winner Gautier Paulin aboard a Monster Energy Yamaha, Pourcel on the CLS Kawasaki and U.S-based former world champion Marvin Musquin for Red Bull KTM in MX2.
