Dungey officially leaving Suzuki following the MXoN, KTM next?

Ryan Dungey will part ways with Suzuki following the MXoN in France this weekend.

Ryan Dungey will part ways with Suzuki following the MXoN in France this weekend.

It’s official: Ryan Dungey will be parting ways with American Suzuki for the 2012 AMA Supercross and Motocross seasons.

The confirmation came this morning via an official press release from American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC), announcing that Australian Brett Metcalfe is the lone rider confirmed at this point.

Dungey will have his last ride in yellow at the Motocross of Nations this weekend in France, before parting ways with Suzuki for the new season.

“Ryan Dungey has had great success in his years with the team as Suzuki’s Championship DNA propelled him to score both 250 and 450 titles aboard the RM-Z,” said team manager, Mike Webb. “We all wish Ryan much luck with his future endeavors.”

It’s almost certain that Dungey will spearhead Red Bull KTM’s program in 2012 aboard a 450 SX-F, reuniting him with former Suzuki team manager Roger De Coster.
