FMF Makita Suzuki’s Josh Strang will continue his title defence this weeekend as the 2011 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series returns to racing this weekend.

After a short summer break in the schedule which saw the young Aussie race a round of the AMA Pro Motocross series, the GNCC action will unfold at Unadilla Valley Sports Centre for round ten of the 13 round series.

The premier XC1 championship has become an intense battle between Strang and FMF KTM’s Charlie Mullins, as the two have dominated proceedings at the majority of the events.

Strang leads the series currently, but only by fourteen points over Mullins, while New Zealand’s Paul Whibley is only another eleven in tow of Mullins. All riders will be looking for a clutch win at Unadilla this weekend as they get to the pointy end of the series and every points starts to matter that little bit more.
