Luke Styke will remain at Serco Yoshimura Yamaha for the entire Super X season.

Luke Styke has been confirmed by Serco Yoshimura Yamaha to be contesting the Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship, for the team.

Styke, 19, joined the team in a guest role at the final two rounds of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals, now given the opportunity to ride for the team during the entire five-round Super X season.

The new was confirmed to MotoOnline.com.au during last week’s launch of the 2012 Yamaha YZ250F in Queensland, with Styke joining current outdoor number two Kirk Gibbs on the two-man squad.

Styke has been part of Yamaha’s development squad for a number of years, winning the Under 19s outdoor title for the GYTR Rockstar Energy Drink Yamaha team in 2009.

Last season saw Styke earn his first Super X Lites class podium at the Auckland round in New Zealand, dedicating it to injured teammate Harley Quinlan at the time.

Styke commenced this season as a privateer in the MX Nationals with support from Yamaha and Ficeda, finishing 10th in the series after scoring a number of top three moto finishes during the year.

Queenslander Ford Dale will be forced to sit out the Super X season with a knee injury suffered during the early rounds of the MX Nationals, while Jake Moss will step up to the Pro Open ranks with CDR Rockstar Energy Drink Yamaha.
