Serco Yoshimura Yamaha’s Kirk Gibbs isn’t giving up hope of chasing down Matt Moss in the Pro Lites category of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals, despite the former champion stretching a comfortable 58-point lead in recent rounds.

Gibbs, who finished second in the title chase last year, bounced back to form at Wodonga’s most recent round with two race victories, and since then Gibbs has also secured two New South Wales Motocross Championships.

“2010 was our first time to Moree and I really liked the track and had some success there,” Gibbs commented. “I have since been back to the track to stay sharp on it and I feel my riding has been going well over the past month.

“There are only two rounds to go, so it’s time to pull put all the stops and finish the championship out strongly.”

Gibbs currently lies in second position in the Pro Lites championship and looks forward to the final two rounds as both Moree and Coolum are among his favourite tracks.

With four wins at Murray Bridge, Gibbs remains the lone rider in the category to sweep a round this season.
