Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen has confirmed that his comfort with the American-based factory KTM squad was the clinching factor when deciding to progress to the AMA full time in 2012.

The talented 17-year-old from Germany made a huge impact this year as a guest in selected AMA Supercross rounds, winning the Las Vegas season finale and proving he has skills both indoors and out against the toughest competition in the world.

Now, Roczen has confirmed he’ll race in the U.S. full time next year, and says that once he makes to move, he wants to make it a successful one.

“I love my team in America, they are really great people and I love to have them around,” Roczen told European website MXlarge. “Once I am there I don’t really want to come back. I will try it for 2012 and see how I like it.

“I have no problem to go there, I really like it there and the team I have around me and I have a lot of friends over there so it’s going to be really good and it should also be fun.”

Speculation has been mounting that Roczen could contest a round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship later this season, but he has ruled that out at this stage.

“I won’t do a national this year,” he confirmed. “I have something in my mind, but not going to the nationals. I won’t move to the 350cc for a race, but I have something in my mind, but I don’t want to say anything right now.”

Roczen currently leads the MX2 class in the Motocross World Championship after a spectacular start to the season in 2011.
