Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Todd Waters says that he’s content with the seventh position overall that he scored in Wodonga’s Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals round for now, continuing his comeback to round out the season.

In only his second round back from injury, Waters showed improvement but acknowledged returning to full race fitness was going to take time.

Waters finished the four 15 minute motos fifth, 11th, third and eighth, but rued a collision with Billy Mackenzie in race two that cost him a top four result.

“I felt much better out there today,” Waters said. “The only negative for me was the clash with Billy in race two, which cost me a good result.

“I am still not back to full race fitness but I came through and passed a number of the front runners to finish third in race three.

“The last race I had no juice left in the tank but when you are coming back from a lengthy injury that is to be expected,” he added.

Waters missed the opening half of the season with a serious wrist injury, requiring surgery and a lengthy period off the bike.
