Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Michael Phillips has ranked the Wodonga round of the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals a positive one for him following a fine fourth overall.

The Kiwi showed a great improvement in his starts at the tight Victorian venue, launching out of the gates within the top three in each race.

Phillips, who finished the four races third, eighth, fifth and fourth said he was pleased to have come away with four good races under his belt.

“All-in-all it was a very positive day for me,” Phillips explained. ”I got four solid race starts and I was very comfortable on the track.

“My worst result was eighth in the second race but to be honest I was happy with that as I went down at turn 2 and had to come through from last.”

Phillips now sits sixth in the championship after seven of nine rounds contested to date this season.
