Reed will look to continue his winning streak at High Point.

With two rounds down in the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, only one rider has stood atop the overall podium. TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing’s Chad Reed sits atop the 450 Class standings, carrying a two-race winning streak going into Saturday’s Rockstar Energy High Point National presented by Centra Bank in Mt. Morris, Pa.

Reed’s biggest challenger to this point in the 2011 season has been defending champion Ryan Dungey. At the previous round of the championship from Wortham, Texas, Dungey appeared to be on his way to capturing his first win of the season for Rockstar/Makita Suzuki.

However, misfortune struck in the final moto as Dungey had a fuel issues with two laps remaining, allowing Reed to assume the lead and sweep the day’s motos for a full 50 point haul.

Now, Reed holds a 21-point advantage over Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto, who has posted back to back podium efforts to start the season, with Muscle Milk/Toyota/JGR’s Davi Millsaps in third.

After his heartbreak in Texas, Dungey currently occupies fourth in the standings, 28 points out of the lead.

With sole possession of the red number plate, signifying his position as the 450 Class points leader, Reed heads to the site of his first career victory in the premierĀ  division in 2009.

After a highly-competitive opening round, the 250 Class also featured a to-the-wire battle for the win in Texas.

After a pair of grueling motos dominated by the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team, South African rider Tyla Rattray secured his first win of the season.

Behind him, his teammate and Scottish born rider Dean Wilson grabbed his second consecutive runner-up result and now sits atop the standings for the first time in his career.
