Red Bull Teka KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli has stated that he feels ready to start pushing towards more wins and the championship lead after his second place at the GP of France, round five of the FIM World MX1 Championship.
Cairoli has been dealing with a knee injury for the first part of the series, and despite not feeling any pain this past weekend at the Saint Jean D’Angely circuit, admitted his physical conditioning wasn’t up to par, due to constraints on how much he has been able to train with the injury.
Cairoli was in good spirits after the podium finish in France, stating he is ready to get back to full health and speed.
“Now its time to get back in shape and go after the red plate,” Cairoli said.
“I am looking forward to the two GPs in Portugal and Spain and I would like to use them to close the points gap in the championship.”
Cairoli trails current points leader, Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1’s Clement Desalle by six points heading into the GP of Portugal this weekend.
