Round one lites winner Baggett had a tougher time in Texas.

Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett is determined to get back to his Hangtown form after a tough day at round two of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Nationals at Freestone, Texas.

After taking a convincing win at Hangtown’s first round, Baggett started out at Freestone the same way, jumping out to a holeshot and early lead in the first lites class moto.

A small crash knocked him out of the lead, forcing him to have to come through the pack for an eventual seventh place finish for the moto.

Race two told a similar story, with multiple small mistakes leaving Baggett with a sixteenth place finish, his 7-16 moto scores leaving him with ninth overall for the weekend.

“It wasn’t my weekend, but it definitely motivates me to go back and work even harder before the next race,” said Baggett.

“I think I was pushing a little too hard and it ended up biting me. There is a lot of racing left and I’m going to work my way back to the top.”

Baggett now sits fourth in the lites category title race, with a week off to regroup before heading to round three of the series, the High Point National at Mt. Morris.
