Husqvarna Racing’s Glenn Kearney has used his GNCC experience to capture a solid first podium finish in the 2011 Australian Off Road Championship.
In his return to Australia this season, Kearney raced to second Outright on Saturday in the Cross Country format, before sealing his weekend with a third on Sunday in the Sprint round at Hedley in Victoria.
Kearney was particularly strong during Saturday’s lengthy Cross Country showing, taking a narrow second behind defending champion Toby Price.
“I am stoked with the strong finish in round three,” Kearney beamed. “I felt I was struggling early and the course was deteriorating with each lap.
“I took the option to change my stepper seat to a flatter style to allow me to move around the bike better during the fuel stop and it paid off with consistent time gains despite the track conditions.
“Thanks again to the team at PFG Husqvarna and of course our sponsors.”
Kearney has now boosted himself to fourth in the series after four rounds contested to date this season.
