CDR Rockstar Energy Yamaha's Jay Marmont will be looking to strike this weekend in Murray Bridge.

As round five of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals series gets set to take place at Toowoomba’s Echo Valley this weekend, CDR Rockstar Yamaha’s Jay Marmont has revealed he is feeling as good as he ever has in the lead-up to the round.

The Wollongong-based 28-year-old feels he is ready to make his move in the Pro Open Championship point standings, currently sitting fourth in the series at the halfway point.

A finger injury that he had been dealing with during the Murray Bridge round is now healed, and Marmont is confident that his riding is where it needs to be to challenge for his fourth consecutive championship.

“I have felt as good as ever on the bike the last couple of weeks in practice,” says Marmont. “I took the positives from the final motos at Murray Bridge, worked hard on my training and bike set up and feel that I’m riding as good as I have in a long time.

“I just have to take that to the race track and everything will be fine.”

Marmont sits 34 points out of the series lead, which is maintained by Monster Kawasaki’s Dean Ferris.
