CDR Rockstar Yamaha’s Josh Coppins is hoping his years of GP racing experience will prove an advantage for him at Toowoomba’s Echo Valley circuit this weekend, host of round five of the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals.

This weekend will be the first time Coppins has visited the Echo Valley facility, but he is excited to race it for the first time and confident he will be able to quickly familiarise himself with the circuit.

“Echo Valley is another track that I haven’t raced, but the team tells me it is the most like a European or GP track with long hills and technical ruts”, commented Coppins.

“I actually like the fact of going to a new track and dialing it in quickly.”

As would be expected from a former world championship runner-up, Coppins has the attitude of the rougher the better when it comes to the track conditions on race day.

“I hope it gets as rough and challenging as everyone tells me it usually does as that sorts out who has done the work and who hasn’t.”

Coppins goes into the Toowoomba round trailing Pro Open series leader Dean Ferris by nine points, after a fall at the previous round prevented him from finishing the final race.

He has since fully recovered from those injuries sustained and will be at one hundred percent when he fronts the gate this weekend.
