Chad Reed and his TwoTwo Motorsports/Bel-Ray Racing team have confirmed that they’ll have additional factory support from Honda for the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, which commences at Hangtown this weekend.

Reed has been spotted testing a factory Honda CRF450R in California recently, today confirming that American Honda will provide addition support via bikes and parts from the factory for the outdoors.

“I am very excited about doing the outdoors,” Reed said. “Our first year of Supercross was awesome. We started behind the eight-ball but we got stronger and stronger as the season went on.

“We are starting the motocross season in a much better position, we have momentum and it is our aim to carry that momentum through.

“Honda has increased their support and are supplying me with bikes and parts which is fantastic. We have done lots of testing and right from the get go I have felt very comfortable on the bike.”

Reed has been a rejuvenated fan favourite in 2011 since forming his own team with TwoTwo Motorsports, teh team gaining increased support from its loyal sponsors including Etnies, Bel-Ray, Skull Candy and Shift for the nationals.

“I am having a blast,” Reed continued. “I am loving riding and enjoying being around the team. I am really looking forward to battling it out there each weekend and trying to win another outdoor title.”

Having won the event in 2010 Reed is looking forward to Sacramento’s Hangtown Motocross Classic which will open the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship on Saturday, 21 May.
