Team 07 Axis Motorsports Honda expands with McDonald

New Zealander Justin McDonald has signed for the Team 07 Axis Motorsports Honda team to contest the remaining rounds of the 2011 Rockstar Energy MX Nationals.

After finishing the last round in Newcastle on a high, winning the last moto comfortably over Matt Moss, he can now look forward to having a bike prepped and ready to go when he flies in for the next round this weekend at Murray Bridge in South Australia.

“Thanks to 07 axis Motorsports Honda, I can now just focus on the next six rounds instead of not knowing if I was going to be able to race or not,” McDonald explained.

“The first three rounds were a bit hard on me. I had to virtually build and entire bike with my own engine, suspension and wheels on a borrowed bike, race – then strip it back down and hand it back to Cody Mackie (it was his practice bike) and then fly home with my parts.

“I now have the opportunity to get the results I am capable of. I’m really looking forward to working with the team. I’ve heard nothing but great things of the team and how hard they work and I plan to make it happen for both me and the team”.

McDonald will join teammates Mackie and Kieran Hall and his cousin Cody Mackie in the Pro Lites class, while Dylan Peterson will remain the team’s lone Under 19s rider.
