World champion Tony Cairoli will remain with KTM in World Motocross until at least the 2014 season.

World champion Tony Cairoli will remain with KTM in World Motocross until at least the 2014 season.

KTM motorsports manager Pit Beirer has confirmed that it will continue its factory Motocross World Championship team through to the 2014 season after extending its agreement with team boss Claudio De Carli.

The Red Bull Teka KTM Racing Team enjoyed its most successful season ever in 2010 and has made of very positive start to racing in 2011 in the opening two rounds of the GP series.

Beirer also paid tribute to the “great cooperation” with De Carli, who is the manager of MX1 World Champion Antonio Cairoli.

De Carli and Cairoli came into the team together at the beginning of the 2010 season and the Italian went on to win the MX1 title riding the KTM 350 SX-F in its first year of release.

“We have enjoyed a great cooperation with Claudio De Carli and we very much appreciate and respect his work with the factory team,” Beirer said, speaking from the company headquarters in Mattighofen, Austria.

“Now we can look forward to continuing to work closely with Claudio and Tony right through to the end of the 2013 season.”

As well as securing Cairoli for the coming seasons, his teammate Max Nagl and the team’s MX2 duo Ken Roczen and Jeffrey Herlings would remain with Red bull Teka KTM Factory Racing until the close of the 2013 season.

Beirer also underlined that it was also very important for the continuity of the team’s development that KTM had secured the extended services of factory team manager and multi world champion Stefan Everts right through the 2013 season.

“We have both continuity and commitment for the team and this is very important for building our future,” he concluded.
