Super X champion Josh Hansen admits he made a rookie error at Salt Lake City.

Australasian Supercross Champion Josh Hansen admits he learned a lot in Salt Lake City’s penultimate West Coast Lites AMA Supercross round last Saturday night after crashing out while attempting a pass in the early stages.

The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki title contender attempted to pass eventual winner Eli Tomac on lap two in an aggressive maneuver, but went down and struggled to get going again.

Once up and running, Hansen was able to push his way through the pack to finish the night in 13th.

“I can’t even describe how disappointed I am with myself,” said Hansen. “I had everything I needed to be out front and I let a lot of people down. It’s really hard to watch the championship slip away again, but I can say I learned a lot tonight.

“Whenever I make a mistake, I want to learn from it. I just hope I can redeem myself with one more win in Las Vegas.”

Hansen now sits 14 points in arrears of teammate Broc Tickle with a single round remaining in Las Vegas this weekend.
