Popular freestyle motocross and off-road rider Jeff ‘Ox’ Kargola has been killed in an incident while taking part in the 2011 Monster Energy Rip to the Tip Baja adventure ride in Mexico.

A two-time winner of the SCORE San Felipe 250, experienced off-road ace Kargola was attended to by medical personnel on site after the fall, then transported via helicopter to the San Felipe hospital where he passed away due to his injuries.

According to a statement released today, Kargola passed early this afternoon with his best friends Cameron Steele, Ryan Hagy, Chad Peebles, Ryan Cropley, Rich Niggemann, Mark Moss and Trigger Gumm.

“Words can’t express the emotions I am feeling,” television identity Steele commented. “I love Jeff like a son and he was riding with all of his best friends he grew up with in San Clemente.”

Kargola, 27, was a member of the Metal Mulisha FMX team, also taking part in the X Games and enjoying a career highlight of a silver medal in the 2005 running of the Winter X Games Best Trick competition.
