Matt Moss has admitted he was looking for a clean-sweep at Appin’s second round of the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals yesterday, but remains content with the overall victory.

The Pro Lites class saw 2009 champion Moss take his second overall victory in as many tries this season aboard the KTM 250 SX-F, quickly adapting after switching from Suzuki for this year.

Moss, 22, was in devastating form at what is his home round on the calendar, the Sussex Inlet local taking 1-1-5-3 results across the four motos contested during round two of nine.

“I started off in qualifying and was first by two and a half seconds – I felt so comfortable,” Moss explained. “I pretty much smoked the first two races, just felt so comfortable on the bike in the lead and felt confident for the final motos.

“I got great starts but I made a couple of mistakes and that made it tough. We came away with the win, although it wasn’t the way I wanted to do it. I wanted the clean-sweep.”

Moss now maintains a handy 47-point buffer in the series as it heads to Raymond Terrace in New South Wales this weekend.
