Australian Superbike points leader Glenn Allerton is confident he and his Procon Maxima BMW Racing S 1000 RR have what it takes to make it four wins on the trot at Symmons Plains tomorrow.

The 2008 ASBK champion took a shock double win at Phillip Island last weekend and has continued that form during practice and qualifying in Tasmania, now hopeful of another double to extend his points lead.

“I’m definitely confident for tomorrow’s races,” Allerton told MotoOnline.com.au. “I’ve been looking at the lap sequences and I’m strong over a long run – I’ve always been good at this place.

“I’m confident that even if somebody gets a better start than me, I’m still going to be able to go around them and win the race.”

After qualifying in third position today following Superpole this afternoon behind Honda’s Wayne Maxwell and Suzuki’s Josh Waters, Allerton said his BMW took minimal set-up changes to set it for Symmons.

“The bike’s really good, for sure,” he added. “We changed the fork setting on Thursday because it was a bit soft, but it’s working good. We’ve just been throwing tyres at it to see if I can ride it a little bit faster.

“I’m sure that I’m fit enough, focused enough, and the bike’s fast enough that I will be able to do whatever I have to do to win the race.”

Tomorrow’s second round of the 2011 title chase will feature a pair of 20-lap premier class races.
