Yoshimura Suzuki has invited Aussie Josh Waters to return to the team at the U.S. WSBK round.

Yoshimura Japan president Fujio Yoshimura has officially confirmed that he’s invited Josh Waters to return with the Yoshimura Suzuki team when the Superbike World Championship visits Miller Motorsports Park in the United States on 28-30 May.

2009 ASBK champion Waters impressed on debut at Phillip Island last weekend, clinching 11th in Superpole before going on to take 18-13 results come Sunday’s pair of 22-lap races. Race one was hampered by a deflating front tyre.

Now, Waters is all but certain to return with the team for Miller, the event scheduled just one week before Queensland Raceway’s fifth round of this year’s ASBK series.

“Josh showed he has the potential,” declared Yoshimura. “I have told him we’d like him to ride again in America at Miller Motorsports Park. It’s a good start for the team and Josh and we will both get better.”

Confirmed races so far for the Japanese outfit will now include Miller WSBK round, the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance race in Japan, and possibly another WSBK round or two in the second half of the season.
