Kearney confident he can build momentum in AORC

Husqvarna's Glenn Kearney returned to Australia last weekend in the AORC opener.

Husqvarna’s Glenn Kearney has promised that he will continue to build momentum after a consistent start in his return to the Australian Off Road Championship last weekend at Bulahdelah.

After a long and successful career in the U.S. GNCC series, Kearney entered Saturday’s Cross Country as a favourite, challenging for the lead until being forced out with an electrical fault on his TE 310.

“I am happy with where the Husqvarna TE 310 is at for the AORC,” Kearney said. “I was hoping to be at the front in the Cross Country on Saturday, and that was exactly where we ran for the majority of the race.

“The track was fun and the competition is strong, so it will be an interesting year.”

Round two’s Sprint format saw Kearney again form a solid result with fourth Outright and third overall in the E2 category.

“The PFG team is a strong and professional outfit and I am certain we will be making big improvements on our results at the next event,” Kearney added. “I was happy to have some decent times in the Sprint format on Sunday, as I haven’t ridden that format in six years.

“I was worried I may have trouble in getting up to speed. We did lack some pace, but showed glimpses of what is in store once I get my head back around being completely on the edge for a quick 10 minute burst.

“With a big break now before the next event, I have a lot of work to do, but I realize exactly what I need to work on in order to be up to speed.”

The AORC series’ third and fourth rounds will take place at Hedley in Victoria on 28-29 May.
